How To Order A Cake

We have listed a few things you should know when ordering a custom tailored cake. And a few thing to expect when you are ordering a cake from Cakerator.

How To Order A Cake

  • Plan ahead and order your cake way in advance. As soon as you schedule your big event the next thing to think about is if you need a cake.  Most small cake studios need about 4 to 6 months advance notice, and we, at Cakerator, go by this same standard. Do not wait until the last-minute to order your cake unless you are planning to buy one from your local super center grocery store. At the very latest, we take cake orders 3 weeks prior to the event, in which case, the full payment is due. Orders placed a month or more in advance, only require a deposit of $100 to hold the date, with the balance due 3 weeks prior to the event. A late fee of $100 will be charged if the balance is not received 3 weeks before the event date. And the contract will be considered null and void, if your payment is not received 2 weeks before your event.

  • Do email us to find out about our availability, the date of your event and how many people you would like to feed. Once you know that you would like Cakerator to design and create your cake, contact us right away and pay your deposit of $100 to hold the date.

  • Plan for a cake budget. Most people underestimate the cost of custom cakes. Specialty cakes are very labor intensive and require a lot of planning and ingenuity to create. The more elaborate the detail, the hours of labor, servings and materials required to execute a fabulous cake, the more expensive it can get. Most celebrity cake artist require a minimum of $1000+ for all cakes, our minimum requirement for a celebration cake order is $250 and $750 for wedding cakes, and we offer payment plans if you order a few months in advance.

  • Be advised that we do not offer or have access to fresh flowers for your cake, if you would like fresh flowers. When ordering flowers for your event, be prepared to order extra for your cake. We will do the flower arrangement for your cake on site. At the time we are designing your cake, we will know how many flowers are needed and will go over all the details with you.

  • We do not deliver cakes on Sunday. However we can deliver your cake on Saturday, and it will still be perfect for Sunday.

  • We hand deliver all cakes. Since we are a home based cake studio, picking up your cake is not an option. In addition, some of our cakes are very fragile and you will want a professional delivering your cake. Once your cake is delivered you will be responsible for the safety of your cake.

  • We accept cash, money orders, and checks. We are not able to accept debit cards or credit cards at this time.

Once you have confirmed we are available for your event, go ahead a place your order.
